My best advice for spending the holidays with a toddler and a preschooler

December 19, 2008

I'll be on the air tomorrow at Las Vegas' ABC-affiliate (KTNV-Channel 13) to give other Vegas parents some advice about spending the holidays with their littlest ones. In case you miss it, (or I forget to get my point across clearly), here are my top tips:

Keep it simple, keep it short.
Remember they have short attention spans. So day-long activities and 12-step crafts are probably too much for most kids under six.

You don't have to spend a lot to have a great time.
You can head to Lorenzi or Sunset parks to give the ducks a Christmas treat. Go to the Bellagio and see the conservatory and get some gelato next door.

Never leave home without your camera.
Some of our best shots aren't taken by professionals in studios. They're genuine moments of joy when our kids are having the most fun.
