The games kids play (and music and toys, too!)

December 02, 2008

The holiday shopping season is upon us. If you're anything like me, you're trying to balance the huge list of "I wants" and "Mommy/Daddy, can I have it"s with your checkbook, a fragile economy. How do we know if what they want will last longer than it takes to open the package? How many toys have we all bought that entertained them for ten minutes before it fell to the bottom of the toybox?

Well, your friends here at Savvy Source (including me, of course) are here to help. We've reviewed some popular toys, games and music selections to give you some advice on what our kids liked, what we can't stand (like the obnoxious talking toys without "off" switches), and what we think should be in Santa's bag this year for our preschoolers and toddlers.

I must admit there are quite a few items that are listed that we don't have, as many of Doodle's toys are recycled from his older sister and are therefore no longer available in your local retailers. So, my voice in the listings is rather spare.

I reviewed what I could, including: Hullabaloo, Brain Quest for Preschoolers, Candy Land, and a neat set of wooden blocks. Don't miss out on For the Kids - probably one of the best kids music CDs EVER.
